Exploring the waterways.
From Wroxham the River Bure goes down river to Great Yarmouth. There are many ways you can explore the river. For the most leisurely take one of the 1 or 2 hour sightseeing tours with full commentary. For a more personal exploration hire a day or picnic boat, so you can explore in both directions going upstream under Wroxham Bridge into the Swallows and Amazons woodland area to Coltishall and enjoy a meal at one of the 3 pubs. Go downstream and within 2 hrs you can be in Horning and have lunch at 2 pubs.
For the more adventurous you can hire a rowing boat , kayak, or canoe and explore nature in more detail. For the ultimate experience paddle boarding has become very popular on this very calm slow flowing river.
Of course fishing boats are another option. Or bring your own boat.

Wroxham offers visitors many unique opportunities within a couple of miles for adults and children alike. Apart from the many Roy's shops and riverside pubs, restaurants, many take-aways, department stores and gift shops, you can book several different sightseeing ferry excursions to explore the Broads. You can hire day boats, and larger picnic boats. The Bure Valley Railway provides a Harry Potter style steam train excursion on an 8-mile journey to Aylsham. Near the train station is the huge indoor Miniature World, great for all the family, and for a woodland children's activity experience visit Bewilderwood. Visit the local Hoveton Hall and gardens, and Wroxham Barns, and farm that children love.
Many of our guests tell us they just park up their car for the week and everything they want is within walking distance, and back at the cottage they just enjoy the ambience of being at the place where everyone else wants to be. Sit back, relax and enjoy the view.
